Nomads Presents:

Oliver! The well-known English musical, based upon the novel ‘Oliver Twist’ by Charles Dickens is brought to life with music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, his greatest hit.  The show opens to our wonderful Young Nomads singing ‘Food Glorious Food’ and Oliver’s journey through 1837 London begins.

We all know the story of this poor orphan boy who meets various colourful characters along the way, some being kind (The Artful Dodger, Fagin, Nancy), some being not so kind (The Sowerberrys & Noah Claypole) and others being downright cruel! (Bumble, Widow Corney, Bill Sykes). Charles Dickens knew how to write a good story, from his brilliant description of characters with well-chosen names to a great story line that showed there’s always hope despite living in a time of great hardship when poor as we see Oliver rescued by Mr Brownlow and Mrs Bedwin. Add to this some wonderful songs – Consider Yourself, Pick a Pocket or Two, Who Will Buy and many more you will be in store for a real treat!
